Pritzker-Stratton Inaugural Committee Announces Statewide Day of Service and Weekend Events

Chicago, IL — Today, the Pritzker-Stratton Inaugural Committee announced the schedule of weekend events leading up to the inauguration on Monday, January 14.

Governor-elect JB Pritzker and Lieutenant Governor-elect Juliana Stratton are kicking off their inaugural weekend with a day of service on Saturday, January 12. They will attend more than half of the 13 service opportunities in every corner of the state coordinated by the inaugural committee.

Illinoisans can join the day of service at the following locations:

  • Aurora: Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), 2007 West Downer Place
  • Carbondale: Boys & Girls Club of Carbondale, 250 North Springer Street, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Chicago: El Valor, Carlos Cantu Children & Family Center, 2434 South Kildare Avenue
  • Chicago: Marillac-St. Vincent Family Services, Foglia Youth Center, 2859 West Jackson Boulevard
  • Crystal Lake: Crystal Lake Food Pantry, 42 East Street, 12 – 2 p.m., in partnership with the Democratic Party of McHenry County
  • East St. Louis: Community Lifeline Family Resources Center, 1764 State Street
  • Peoria: PCCEO & Elevate Energy, George Washington Carver Community Center, 710 West Percy Baker Avenue, 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • Rockford: American Red Cross, 727 North Church Street
  • Southland: Details are still being confirmed and will be posted online soon!
  • Springfield: Boys and Girls Club of Central Illinois, 300 S. 15th St., 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Springfield: Central Illinois Foodbank, 1937 East Cook Street
  • Springfield: Martin De Porres Center, 1301 South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, 8:15 – 11 a.m.
  • Vernon Hills: Sullivan Center, 635 N. Aspen Dr., 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., in partnership with Tenth Dems

The governor-elect and lieutenant governor-elect will also host open houses in Springfield and Chicago:

  • Following the day of service on Saturday, January 12, Lt. Gov.-elect Stratton will host a kick-off celebration at the Ace Hotel in Chicago from 7 to 9 p.m. DJ Reverb will provide the music and attendees are encouraged to wear their freshest kicks.
  • On Sunday, January 13, Gov.-elect Pritzker will host an open house at the Old State Capitol in Springfield from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Attendees will get the opportunity to meet and get a picture with JB and MK.
