Chicago, IL – Today, Republicans in the U.S. Senate announced their new plan to dismantle the Affordable Care Act following weeks of closed door meetings, shutting out Democrats, the media, and the American people. In response, JB Pritzker released the following statement:

“The Senate GOP’s plan for health care will dismantle the basic right to quality and affordable health care in the United States,” said JB Pritzker. “This mean-spirited bill that Republicans leaders are attempting to jam through Congress is nothing short of an attack on low-income women and millions of families across the country. In Illinois, the impact will be particularly devastating, with hundreds of thousands potentially losing their Medicaid coverage and thousands of jobs at risk. But while Republicans in Congress prepare to unleash devastation on our state, Bruce Rauner remains silent. There is too much at stake for Bruce Rauner’s cowardice. I’m calling on Bruce Rauner to do his job and stand up and fight for the people of this state.”
